Nine Octane Fitness products this year won 12 Best Buy awards from Fitness Professor Review for 2014-2015 – three more awards than last year – and the most Fit Prof Review Best Buy awards over any other brand. Since 2003, Octane has earned approximately 82 Best Buy awards from numerous publications, consumer organizations and specialty fitness retailers.

“Our goal is to continually innovate and perfect the zero-impact cardio category, and we are relentlessly committed to developing superior products,” said Tim Porth, executive vice president of product development and marketing at Octane Fitness.

For the first time ever, Fitness Professor Review named a Best Product of the Year:  Octane’s new Zero Runner. Because the Zero Runner represents a new product modality, the reviewers also designated it the Best Buy Treadmill under $3500, the Best Buy Crosstrainer under $3500 and the Best Buy Elliptical Under $3500.

According to the Fit Prof Review experts, “It is rare that a product cannot be easily defined within a fixed product category, however, Octane’s Zero Runner is such a machine. Is it a crosstrainer? An elliptical? A treadmill (without a belt)? It is ALL of the above. With its innovative, 58” dynamic stride design and user-defined, zero-impact motion, the Zero Runner offers the highest level of freedom of movement ever found on one machine. Add Octane’s world-class construction, motivational software and CROSS CiRCUIT, the Zero Runner is our first Product of the Year.”

Also earning accolades as the Best Buy Crosstrainer for the second year in a row was Octane’s unique LateralX, described as “a complete reinvention of the lateral moving crosstrainer that can significantly alter stride pattern and movement.”

Among standing models, the Q47xi was named the Best Buy elliptical for the eighth consecutive year, and the Q47x was the Best Buy Elliptical under $4500 for the sixth year in a row. Among the recognized features of the Q47xi:  the new multi-color SmartLight display, Octane’s novel SmartLink™ app and the versatile CROSS CiRCUIT.

For the third year in a row, the Q37xi won the Best Buy Elliptical under $3500, tying with the Zero Runner. And the Q37x was again the Best Buy Elliptical under $3000, with top ratings for ergonomics, versatility and construction.

Big winners again this year were Octane’s recumbent ellipticals. The xR6xi was the Best Buy Crosstrainer under $4500 for the seventh consecutive year; the xR6x, the Best Buy Crosstrainer under $4000 for the second year; and the xR4x, the Best Buy Crosstrainer under $3000. Reviewers noted the value of the new features: “Coupled with the xRide’s multi-color SmartLight display and Octane’s SmartLink technology, anyone from beginner to advanced athlete will enjoy their xRide experience.”
